Case

Case is one of the world's leading manufacturers of agricultural and construction machinery. The company is headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin, USA. The European Division is headquartered in Paris, France.

The history of the company begins in 1842, when the inventor Jerome Increase Case started the production of threshers in the city of Racine. The company was named after its inventor Case. It is worth noting that Case was the first manufacturer of steam engines for agricultural machinery, which subsequently turned the company into the largest supplier and manufacturer of steam engines.

In 1912, Case decides to enter the road construction market. It was at this time that the company began to produce steam rollers and graders.

Since 1957, Case has been expanding its business through acquisitions of other companies. It first acquired a small private firm, American Tractor Corporation, which developed and manufactured backhoe buckets for tracked excavators. At the same time, Case was developing a prototype agricultural wheeled tractor, the main innovation of which was a backhoe at the rear and a loader bucket at the front. This is how a new model of the tractor, the Case Model 320 backhoe loader, appeared.

Through the merger with American Tractor Corporation, Concord Inc., International Harvest, Poclain, Fermec Holding Ltd., Bor-Mor Inc., Austoft Holding Ltd, Case has grown into a global manufacturer of light and medium-sized construction equipment.

In September 1998, Case crawler excavators began to be produced in conjunction with the Japanese manufacturer Sumitomo. The companies announced the creation of a global strategic alliance for the production and sale of this type of equipment. And in 1999, after the merger of the company with New Holland, the Case New Holland (CNH) concert appeared.

Case has transferred the rights to manufacture its line of utility trenchers and drill rigs to Astec Industries Inc. in 2002 after entering an alliance with her.

Now in the line of the American company there are the following types of equipment: Case excavators (wheeled and tracked), articulated dump trucks, bulldozers, tracked and wheeled excavators, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, telescopic loaders, bulldozers.

CNH currently includes three brands of agricultural machinery (Case IH, New Holland Ag, Steyr) and three brands of construction equipment (Case Construction Equipment, New Holland Construction, Kobelco).
