Nowadays, compact white cars with a lynx on the logo can be found on construction sites, in agriculture and utilities, almost anywhere in the world. Bobcat equipment has long become a symbol of durability, reliability and versatility, and the brand name has become a household name for all mini-wheel loaders in the USA and European countries. However, the company's product line also includes mini-tracked loaders, tracked mini-excavators, backhoe loaders, telescopic loaders, telescopic loaders with a rotating tower, as well as more than 60 types of attachments.
The history of the current engineering giant begins in 1958. Then in the United States, the enterprise, originally named Melroe Manufacturing Company, introduced the first Melroe M-60 loader in order to mechanize complex handling operations on farms.
The name under which the brand is known now was first heard in 1962. This name was given to the modernized modification of the M-400 all-wheel drive loader, which is actually considered the first mini-loader in history. The slogan accompanying the novelty sounded like: "Hardy, fast, dexterous" - the qualities that the brand's technique corresponds to now.
In 1965, Melroe opened a subsidiary in the UK to manufacture the Bobcat model, actively increasing volumes and expanding its product line. From this moment on, the conquest of the European market and the accompanying development of the dealer network begins. At the same time, work in the field of improving technology does not stop. Keeping pace with the times, if not even ahead of it, in 1970 Melroe patented the unique Bob-Tach attachment installation system, which is still used today.
In 1977, Melroe, which by this time acquired a recognizable corporate logo. In 1986, having launched the production of mini-excavators and mini-trenchers, the company diversifies its activities and gains the status of the world's leading manufacturer of compact special-purpose equipment.
The enterprise entered the XXI century under the name Bobcat, which it received in 1998. In 2001, the jubilee 500,000th model of the side-turn loader rolled off the assembly line, and the A220 all-wheel drive flatbed loader entered the market. A year later, Bobcat launches its 50,000th compact excavator and launches a new 7,5-ton 7-cylinder excavator.
The next round in the history of the brand comes in 2007, when Bobcat buys the Korean concern Doosan Infracore. At this time, due to high demand, volumes also increase. So, in 2014, the millionth model of the Bobcat loader leaves the production line in the USA, and in Ponchateau (France), the 20,000th copy of the telescopic loader is produced. In 2015, Bobcat opens a new innovation center in Dobris (Czech Republic) to further improve its technology.
Bobcat is now the world market leader for compact, versatile special equipment. The company's global production facilities are located in the USA, France, the Czech Republic and China, and a developed dealer network covers the whole world and numbers about 150 representative offices.
Compact dimensions, maneuverability, productivity, ease of use have made the brand's machines (especially mini-loaders). A wide range of attachments allows you to expand the areas of use of machines, optimize the fleet of equipment and increase work efficiency.
Bobcat S530: a universal hit
This is a middle class model that replaced one of the most demanded cars in our market - S175. It is compact in size - standard with a bucket 3.37 m long and 1.7 m wide, and a height with a cab - 1.97 m. The machine is equipped with a 4-cylinder Kubota engine. The three-point vertical boom lift and long wheelbase provide the loader with high stability, agility and productivity on any surface, making it widely used in yards, warehouses and industrial areas where there is not enough space to move. The cab is completely renovated, equipped with an intelligent heating and air conditioning system, an ergonomic seat, a full-color display, sockets for connecting electrical appliances, the doorway area is increased, the operator is provided with a comfortable microclimate and ease of control of equipment.
Bobcat S650: a new legend
The next generation large loader, which replaces the discontinued S250, needs no special introduction. The performance of the machine has been improved and the dimensions have been reduced (LxWxH - 3.5x2x2 m). Outstanding performance The Bobcat S650 is powered by a 4-cylinder Kubota diesel engine with extended service life. The combination of a wide wheelbase, 12-ply pneumatic tires and a hydrostatic transmission with maintenance-free chain drive makes the loader highly maneuverable, smooth and stable on all surfaces. An advanced hydraulic system allows the Bobcat S650 to operate at high performance with over 90 attachments. Attachment Control Device (ACD) recognizes connected attachments and allows you to work at maximum efficiency, extends attachment life and minimizes the risk of breakdowns. An optional Power Bob-Tach mechanism is installed, with which the operator can change attachments without leaving the cab.
Bobcat S770: comfort at a new level
Another noteworthy model, which is not just a modernized version of the popular previous mod. S300, a truly new product with a radically redesigned design concept. The performance of the hydraulic system pump has been increased: when the HF mode ("increased flow") is turned on, up to 115.5 l / min, due to this, the carrying capacity of the machine has increased. The loader is equipped with a Kubota diesel engine with an advanced liquid cooling system. The stability and maneuverability of the loader has been increased, the operating time without refueling has increased by 25%. The key advantage of the S770 is a new premium-class comfortable cab with increased interior space and glass area, the lights come on when the doors are opened, the power of the air conditioning and heating systems is increased, and a number of functional options are offered for the operator's convenience. The loader is equipped with a 2-speed transmission as standard and can reach speeds of up to 20 km / h. Side turning, full hydrostatic drive and compact dimensions (LxWxH - 3.6x1.9x2 m) provide excellent maneuverability of the machine in confined spaces.
Bobcat S850: Bigger, Faster, More Powerful
The Bobcat S850, all hydrostatic drive, is the largest and most efficient skid steer loader in the brand's history. The technical and operational characteristics of the S850 have been improved over the previous model through the use of the powerful Kubota diesel engine. The liquid cooling system provides the possibility of stable operation of the power unit in conditions of high temperatures and air humidity. The machine's transmission is equipped with four hydraulic motors, which provide a smooth running of the machine, high stability and cross-country ability, as well as higher, in comparison with the “classmates”, efforts to penetrate the bucket into the ground and reduce the time of the boom lifting / lowering cycle. Comfortable working conditions for the operator are ensured by equipping the cab with comfortable controls and an ergonomic seat, as well as the best-in-class climate control system.
